Earthbark is the movement that promotes environmentally responsible dog ownership.
We are passionate about reducing our dog's carbon paw print, embracing an earth friendly lifestyle and advocating for more dog friendly spaces in our communities.
Earthbark leads this campaign by being the ultimate resource of reliable information on environmentally sound dog ownership.
We believe that we must help our dogs guard our planet by being informed and by choosing earth friendly products and services. Earthbark identifies simple practices, reviews products and identifies local services that promote our dog's well being and at the same time make a big difference in doing our part to prevent our planet's global climate change.
There is a wide range of cool, well designed and award winning eco friendly products made out of recycled or reused materials that your dog will certainly enjoy. We help you make those smart and responsible choices by having Lola, our dog product tester, thoroughly research and test them.
We are also aware that as dog lovers, we would like to be able to take our companions almost everywhere we go. To be welcomed with our dogs in all types of businesses and have more "off leash parks" in our communities. The only way to get this, is by showing that we are responsible dog owners, not only with the care we provide to our pets, but also towards our environment and training our dogs to behave properly in public spaces.

SAVE DARFUR PARTNERS WITH PROPR TO CREATE ORIGINAL TEE SHIRTS
Globally conscious brands unite to raise funds and awareness for suffering in Sudan
Washington, DC (November 30, 2009) – The Save Darfur Coalition is proud to announce the launch of an original T-shirt in partnership with California based clothing brand, Propr. With the support of Propr owners this T-shirt will feature a unique design that is symbolic of the Coalition’s ongoing efforts in the Darfur region of Sudan, Africa.
“Propr is honored to work with the Save Darfur Coalition to raise awareness of the human rights abuses in Darfur; every action, whether big or small, can make a difference to those suffering,” said Propr owner and Save Darfur supporter, David Arquette.
As the first action in the charity partnership with Save Darfur, Propr’s classic style and unique vision is infused throughout the original design printed on the American made organic cotton T-shirts. Best described as ‘clothing with a conscience,’ the goal of the collaboration was to create a new way to connect with customers while bringing a heightened awareness and funding to the coalition’s mission.
“We are thrilled that Propr is standing with us to advocate for the millions of Darfuris whose voices cannot be heard from refugee camps in and around Sudan. Their situation remains critical - with rape, intimidation and insecurity still very much a part of everyday life,” states Jerry Fowler, President, Save Darfur Coalition.
The shirt will have its official launch debut on December 17th at Propr in Venice, California. Both Propr and its neighboring store Jexy will give back 10% of the total sales for the day to Save Darfur Coalition.
T-shirts can be purchased online at http://www.savedarfur.org and at http://www.proprclothing.com/.
The shirts will also be available for sale at Propr, 1306 Abbot Kinney Blvd. Venice, CA. Proceeds will support advocacy efforts to end the suffering of the people in Darfur, which continues today with almost three million Sudanese still displaced from the genocide.
About Save Darfur Coalition: The Save Darfur Coalition – an alliance of more than 180 faith-based, advocacy and human rights organizations – raises public awareness about the ongoing genocide in Darfur and mobilizes a unified response to the atrocities that threaten the lives of people throughout the Darfur region. The coalition’s member organizations represent 130 million people of all ages, races, religions and political affiliations united together to help the people of Darfur. www.SaveDarfur.org.
Background on the Conflict in Darfur: The conflict in Darfur began in the spring of 2003 when two rebel groups launched attacks against the government military in an effort to stop the marginalization of Darfur. The Sudanese government responded with coordinated military raids targeting ethnic groups that were associated with the rebel groups. Over 400 villages were completely destroyed and millions of civilians were forced to flee their homes and now live in displacement camps.
It is estimated that between 2003 and 2005, roughly 300,000 people were killed, and in 2004, former-President George W. Bush declared the conflict a “genocide.” Today, fighting continues in the Darfur region, and almost 3 million civilians are still living in insecure camps and cannot return home.

I had the honor of interviewing Elisa Camahort over at Blogher. She is Co-founder of this amazing women driven site. Sit back read and enjoy.
1. Why Blogher?
R1: We started BlogHer in 2005 to answer a question we thought needed to die: "Where are the women bloggers?" We knew that there were tons of the, but there really wasn't a central place to find them, and certainly no place that was shining a spotlight on their amazing voices and quality work. Our mission has been to create opportunities for that exposure, but also opportunities for education, community and economic empowerment.
2. How many members do you have?
I believe we have nearly 60K registered members, but I'll need to check.
3. When did you launch Blogher?
The first conference was announced in March 2005 and took place in July. The BlogHer.com community and news hub was launched in January 2006. The BlogHer Publishing Network, introducing an opportunity to build a business together, launched later in 2006.
4.What inspires you?
I am inspired daily by the voices of the women in our network. Sometimes they are out there striking out and creating new career paths for themselves, supported by their use of blogging and social media. Sometimes they are activating for social or political change...raising money for causes in which they believe or joining the debates on hot-button issues of our time. Sometimes they are simply telling their stories. Stories that have too often been lost to our culture and our society. The blogosphere is actually creating an entirely new history. And women play a huge role in that new history. This inspires me!
5. What is your Favorite color?
6. What's your Favorite Food?
7. What has been your biggest accomplishment?
Definitely taking that risk, making the leap, and taking BlogHer from a passion to a business.
8. What makes you smile?
What can I say, I'm a sucker for 80s music!
9. What member/members that has created a lasting impression.
Well, it all starts with my two co-founders: Lisa Stone and Jory Des Jardins. We were each just bloggers in the community...and then we were three chicks with credit cards who decided to put deposit down on a meeting space for our first conference. And then we decided to go into business...inspired by countless voices. To single out just a few would be too hard.
1o.What have you learned from your site?
That we are all marvelous multi-taskers with diverse interests. That we can jump from a post about politics to one about parenting...and have something to say about either topic. From Finance to Fashion to Food. From Gadgets to Green. Stop me, I could go on with the alliterations forever, much to Lisa's chagrin :)
11. What would you change on your site?
Well, if I may tease you a little bit: We're launching a re-designed site pretty soon, so you'll soon be able to see exactly what we've been longing to change. To say any more would just give it away!
12. Why do you only target women?
We're actually by and about women, but for anyone! Men can and do participate as attendees of our conferences, participants on our site and members of our publishing network. But yes, our mission is to create opportunities for women who blog. Women are the majority of the population in America, the majority of the voters, the majority of the Internet users and control the VAST majority of the household spending. And yet we are not even close to that kind of representation in any hall of power...media, industry, government etc. So, I still feel it's a worthy mission to shine a light on what women are doing and saying and achieving.
13.What are your future goals for Blogher?
We like to joke "world domination", but truly we want to be the women's community and media company that every woman would create for herself if she had the time and money.
14. What exciting thing lies in your future?
Right now I'm flying to DC to present data about women online to the new media teams for both the Republican leadership and the Obama Administration. So, that's a very exciting thing in the *very* near future.
